Little Sprout’s Learning Curriculum
In addition to activities that enhance children’s gross and fine motor skills (like outside time, painting, art projects, play dough, pretend play, etc.), Little Sprout also includes Mandarin Chinese (中文) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum to develop a well-rounded learning experience.
Mandarin Chinese (中文)
Mandarin Chinese is undoubtedly one of the principal languages of the future. As the number one spoken language, Mandarin Chinese in the world is important “in terms of both economic advantages and national interest.”
In addition to creating a bilingual environment for children to practice communicating with their Mandarin Chinese skills daily, the Little Sprout’s curriculum includes:
Learning, Reading, and Writing in Chinese
Circle Time with Chinese Stories and Songs
Group Activities and Discussions in Chinese
Learning about Chinese Culture & Holidays
Chinese Art & Crafts
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
According to the US Department of Education, in a fast-paced, increasingly complex world, it is critical to have the knowledge and skills to solve problems, make sense of information, and know-how to gather and evaluate evidence to make decisions. These are the kinds of skills that students develop in STEM.
Little Sprout works to incorporate a fun, knowledgeable curriculum with interactive activities covering several different subjects.
